Foods That Cause Bloating
Many people are troubled with having a bloated stomach after eating or drinking. It’s a common problem made worse by there being no easy known cure.
Thankfully there are many foods that we know about that contribute to a bloated stomach. If you can avoid these foods that cause bloating then you will see a reduction in the symptoms.
What are the foods that cause bloating?
Number one culprit is wheat and dairy products. Wheat contains a substance called gluten. Many people find gluten really hard to digest. This means the food stays in your digestive system and begins to ferment. This causes excess gas which is one of the main bloating causes.
Dairy products contain a naturally occurring sugar called lactose. Again, humans have difficulty digesting this sugar, which leads to bloating and wind problems.
One of the classic causes of wind and gas are beans, so it goes without saying to avoid those! Many people have problems with dark green vegetables like cabbage, brussels sprouts and broccoli, so cut down on these if you are affected.
Also avoid caffeine, alcohol, sugar and salt. All these can cause bloating problems, either because they’re hard to digest or because they help your body retain excess water.
