Do you remember the game Operation? I used to play Operation all of the time when I was a young kid. I loved that game. I couldn’t get enough of it. The idea of being in an operating room was like magic to me. I loved the little pieces of the game and the “scalpel” and the lights on the operating table. As much as I am embarrassed to admit it, I also played the Operation game all through high school. I used to dream that getting the board ready and the patient was just one of my many surgical tech jobs during the day at the hospital as a surgical technologist.
I used to put on a big production, getting the operating theater ready for the surgical team, which consisted of my Barbie dolls. I made scrubs for my surgical tech Barbie and put her to work doing her surgical tech jobs such as sterilizing the game parts and the instruments with a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol. I would then spend the next few hours playing Operation.
